expensivephonejasjagpalToday is Saturday and it feels amazing to have gone without Facebook for the entire week.  No more notifications every few minutes on my iPhone distracting my attention and I feeling the urge to respond.

You know, I just realized and experienced first hand that our “smart” phones quickly become just a normal phone when we remove the distraction or mad addiction of social media.

You’ll notice that you will only use them when they are really needed.  ie.  Maps, Quick Web Search, Quick response to important emails.  Text and Pictures.

For most I’d say Facebook probably takes up at least 75% of their time using a smart phone.

What I’ve also been noticing is that I’m getting many more notifications for Twitter followers recently.   I really don’t tweet and don’t understand why.  All I’ve ever posted is my syndicated blogs, just as I do to Pinterest, Google and Facebook now.

So the question is, what have I been doing with all my free time lately?

I’ve actually been doing a lot of reading, studying, and rethinking my business and career.  Though I love helping clients, buy and sell houses and get exceptional reviews and video testimonials from them.  The difficulty remains, that is, in the real estate business, consistently finding  people to help is hard.

I know I have a passion to help, share and teach.  I also desire to grow and become more than who I am today.  So I’m sure in time, I will figure out a better path to move forward in.

I also watched very inspiring YouTube talks by Sandeep Maheshwari.  If you don’t mind I’d like to share one with you.  He’s a young Zig Ziglar.   Most of his talks however are in Hindi and very powerful.  I could only find 1 that he’s dubbed in English to share with you all.

The Hindi version of this “Last Life-Changing Seminar” has been watch nearly 2 million times.  Here is the dubbed English version.  It’s long, but I watched it with my kids and I’m sure you will benefit from it.  Take notes 🙂

Anyways, the benefits of being off of Facebook continues.  Such as more time with family.  More time for kids.  More restful sleep and I wake up feeling refreshed.  Not to mention, more time to mediate and be in the moment.

Did you enjoy the full moon and the sun rise at the same time the past few days.  Who has even noticed it?  While the sun rises in the east you’ll notice the moon in the west as clear blue skies with fluffy clouds paint-brushed to add a spark of beauty to the already beautiful nature’s  wonder.

Ok.  Now I’m just blabbering my romance of nature so I’ll stop! 🙂

So I hope everyone is doing well and having a great time.  I would urge you to take a week off of Facebook and see the benefits for yourself.  I know my 40 days might sound extreme, but they say, 40 days takes a habit to be created and or broken, so extreme measures are always necessary to create that which we want in our lives.

By the way, if you need to get a hold of me, you can text, email or message me and I’ll respond.  Remember this post might be going on Facebook, through syndication, but that doesn’t mean I’m there to respond.

Cheers,

Jas Jagpal
